AirTrunk is the pioneer of hyperscale data centres in APJ, focused on delivering unmatched scale, speed, efficiency and reliability for its customers. In 2017, AirTrunk opened Australia’s first and largest hyperscale data centres in Sydney and Melbourne and has rapidly expanded across the region. This includes launching hyperscale data centres in Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney North and Japan, announcing the development of second data centres in Western Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as a new data centre in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Collectively, AirTrunk’s data centre platform will offer almost 1.38 gigawatts (GW) of capacity providing a connected, secure, and sustainable home for data across the APJ region.
AirTrunk is one of the fastest growing technology companies in the world. In April 2020, it was valued at A$3b when a consortium led by Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) and including Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), acquired a major stake in the company, in the largest data centre deal in Australian history.
Under his leadership, AirTrunk has raised over A$6 billion in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) financing across its APJ platform, making it one of the largest issuers of sustainable financing in the data centre industry.
