Alex Teo is the General Manager for Asia and Japan at NEXTDC. Appointed to the role in January 2022, he is responsible for directing NEXTDC’s expansion strategy into target Asian markets.

He was previously NEXTDC’s VP for Strategy and Investor Relations, playing a critical role in the development of the company’s strategy, raising of equity and debt capital and management of key investors. He also oversaw the company’s ESG initiatives and led the company on that front to being recognised as a leader in this field among listed Australian companies, as well as among international peers.

Prior to joining NEXTDC in November 2017, Alex had a 25-year career spanning investment banking, corporate development, management consulting, venture capital and research science. He has served in roles in Australia, Beijing and Munich; speaking English, Chinese and German at a professional level.

Alex has a BSc (Hons) and PhD from the University of Sydney and a MAppFin from Macquarie University. He was a Max Planck Scholar at Germany’s Max-Planck-Institut and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics.
