Hussein is a seasoned and accomplished professional with extensive Telecommunication market
experience of 24 years in Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Having leveraged prowess and
perspective in business management strengthened by intellectual curiosity and grounded in real-
world technical experience, providing the foundation for next-generation ideas, development,
and tactical solutions to build the business from the ground up; Expert in establishing Structure,
driving vision, streamlining operations and transitioning processes, accelerating profits and
mirrored with team building and leadership acumen.
Prior to joining Kacific, Hussein was the Chief Operation and Finance Officer of Asia Consultancy
Group, the largest InfraCo in Afghanistan, which started in 2008. Delivering passive and active
Infrastructure as a service to the MNOs, Digital Television and Fiber Broadband Services.
Hussein was also part of the start-up team of Roshan, a mobile network operator in Afghanistan,
which started in 2003 after the fall of the Taliban. Initially in the infrastructure division and later
undertaken several senior positions in the company, including Director of Supply Chain and
Logistics, Director of centralised Project Management and Director of Enterprise Business.
Before Afghanistan, Hussein worked as the Head of Infrastructure Deployment for Kencell
Communications (part of Vivendi International), a Kenyan Mobile Network Operator.
Hussein is an Avid restaurateur and chef.
Hussein holds an MSC and BEng (Hons) in civil and structural engineering from the University of
East London, is a Kenyan national born in Kenya, and speaks Swahili, Arabic and English fluently.
